today we did a good bit of driving/exploring along "the sunshine coast" which includes robert's creek and many other towns along the water. the photo above was taken from the town of gibson, a larger town close to robert's creek. we walked out onto a long pier beside a bunch of docks. we saw a lot of sailboats, but only one with its sails in action (maybe you can spot it in the upper left with a magnifying glass!) the temperature stayed in the 60s most of the day, which felt a bit chilly to me, but all the locals had on shorts and short sleeves/sleeveless! i guess they thought it was a heat wave...little do they know! here's more from the docks at gibsons:
(1. all the boats in their parking places, 2. a large gull aaron stalked to get a picture of, and 3. that large white rectangle floating on the water is the ferry we used to get across horseshoe bay...the ride took 40 minutes, but had we missed it our drive would have been 4 additional hours!)
on tap for tomorrow: aaron starts his class at 8 am. and i'll be sitting here on our deck reading after i drop him off:
